Property Management Skills and Experience
All managers are either licensed real estate professionals or in the process of obtaining a real estate license. Until licensed, they are under the supervision of a licensed manager. They have experience with managing small businesses, contracting for maintenance and insurance services, construction, horticulture and completing financial reports. Together, they possess all of the skills needed to serve association members and Boards of Directors in managing their associations.
Pat Boehland founded Advantage Townhome Management in 2002. She has been involved with homeowner associations for over 30 years, first as a property owner and then as a property manager. She had a vision for a property management company that truly met the varying needs of each individual association. Advantage Townhome Management is the result of that vision.
Pat has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, extensive business, finance, insurance claims and board of director experience. She has owned 11 properties in 9 different homeowner associations. She served on 4 boards of directors, both in self-managed and professionally managed associations. She holds a Minnesota real estate broker’s license and previously held a Minnesota insurance license.
Andrew Maltzen joined the company as an association manager in 2018, is part owner of the company and is second in command. He has a background in property development and project management. He holds a CCAM designation.
Mary Schmidt joined the company as an association manager in 2018. She has more than 10 years’ experience managing multiple homeowner associations. She holds a CCAM designation.
Paul Oie joined the company as an association manager in 2006. He will retire in 2023 after completing a large project for one association.
John Schloo joined the company as an association manager in 2019. He has a background in organizational research, business development and project management. He holds the CCAM designation.
Ann Slanga joined the company as an association manager in 2020. She has a background in small business ownership and serving on an HOA Board of Directors.
Michele Kay joined the company as an association manager in 2021.
She has a background in customer service and insurance.
Matt Berkowitz joined the company in 2022. He has more than 9 years’ experience in various aspects of property management, including running a lawn care business.
John (Tom) Hackett joined the company in 2022. He has a background in real estate and rental management.
Crystal Neuman joined the company in 2022. She has a background in community association management and real estate sales.
Jennifer Morris rejoined the company in 2023 after spending time in rental management. She has extensive experience in community association management.
Mike Abdouch joined the company in 2022 as our office manager, answering phones and assisting the managers with administrative functions.
Marilyn Cashman joined the company in 2022 as administrative assistant, answering phones and assisting the managers with administrative functions.
